1974 Fender Mustang Refinished Black
This refinished 1974 Fender Mustang in black carries the cool, no-nonsense attitude of a well-worn classic with a fresh edge. Its sleek, minimalist finish gives it a bold, almost rebellious presence—stripped of flash, but full of character. Decades of history still echo through its contours, worn edges, and subtle imperfections, telling stories of countless sessions, stages, and hands it’s passed through. The black refinish adds a touch of modern grit while letting the Mustang’s unmistakable silhouette speak for itself. It’s the kind of guitar that doesn’t try too hard—it just is. Honest, raw, and ready for whatever comes next.

Cosmetics: This is a good “player” guitar that has an old black refinish. It has one siginificant ding to the wood near the jack on the lower side. The frets are worn but still have life. The back has some old sticker residue. The neck maintains its original finish with significant play wear on the neck. Its original “Fender” logo looks great and is completely intact. Overall, this guitar plays well and sounds fantastic.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been set-up low and comfortable. The original frets are in fair shape for their age with some grooves and divots from use but it still plays well up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
